River Birth Co. offers one birth doula package in Wilmington, NC for $1,200. It includes a virtual consultation, an in-person prenatal visit, call and text access to Gabby leading up to labor, in-person labor support at the hospital, birth center or home you choose, and a postpartum visit.

What a birth doula does for you

A birth doula is steady, informed company before, during and just after your birth. My work is simple and very human. I listen. I explain. I rub backs, refill water, hold space for big feelings and keep the room calm.

Doulas provide emotional, physical and informational support. We do not perform clinical tasks or give medical advice, and we never replace your doctor, midwife or nurses. Gabrielle works alongside your care team, and she helps partners feel confident and involved instead of taking their place.

We share evidence and options in plain words, then support the choices you make. Birth does not run on a schedule, so we hold the pace you need. Partners, siblings and grandparents get support too. Everyone has a role.

Every kind of birth

Births we support

Gabrielle supports every kind of family and every kind of birth: medicated or unmedicated, planned cesarean, VBAC, home, hospital, first baby or fourth. She attends births in hospitals, birth centers and homes within about an hour of Wilmington.

Working alone means one familiar face and no hand-offs. Gabrielle is the doula you will work with from your first consultation to your postpartum visit.

If your plans change, we change with you. Inductions, cesareans and transfers are all part of birth, and we stay by your side.

Booking, payment plans and HSA/FSA

Booking your doula

We take a limited number of birth clients each month. A signed agreement and a retainer hold your due month.

Payment plans

Your fee can be split into monthly payments before your due date. We provide receipts for HSA and FSA claims.

Backup care

If Gabrielle is ever unable to attend, a trusted backup doula you have met beforehand steps in.
