Our story
One doula, one old river town.
River Birth Co. is my birth doula practice in Wilmington, North Carolina, on the banks of the Cape Fear River. I started it because I kept meeting families who felt rushed through the biggest day of their lives.
My work is simple and very human. I listen. I explain. I rub backs, refill water, hold space for big feelings and keep the room calm.
I support every kind of family and every kind of birth: medicated or unmedicated, planned cesarean, VBAC, home, hospital, first baby or fourth.

Slow is allowed
Birth does not run on a schedule. We hold the pace you need.

Meet Gabrielle
Gabrielle Hoeft is the founder of River Birth Co. and the doula you will work with from your first consultation to your postpartum visit.
She supports births at home, in birth centers and in hospitals. Working alone means one familiar face, one phone number and no hand-offs.
